Synopsis
Cecilia (11) find out that she and her mother, along with the rest of town's residents, must leave the city due to the pollution caused by a massive mine. Her father, a miner, spends little time at home and is unaware of his daughter's growing distress over the situation.
As the town protests against the forced evacuation, Cecilia and two friends venture inside the mine, where they discover the true cause of the pollution: The Great Hole, a gigantic void-like monster that is slowly devouring everything. The children watch as the creature spirals out of control and quickly escape as the mine collapses around them.
Cecilia comes to accept the danger of remaining in the city and leaves with her mother, watching the city - her city - slowly crumbles before her eyes.

- Inspired by the displacement of the residents of Chuquicamata mining camp, following its relocation to accommodate the mining company Codelco (2007).
